Pianist, composer, and music pioneer Loek Dikker celebrated his eightieth birthday in the BIMHUIS with an ode to his hometown Amsterdam. With his Waterland Sextet, he filled the evening with music from the rich body of work he has built over the past 65 years. Loek Dikker became a jazz pianist at a young age and accompanied legends like Cannonball Adderley, Oliver Nelson, and Don Byas. But he also composed for classical orchestras, musical theater, modern dance, and film.

Pianist, componist en muziekpionier Loek Dikker vierde zijn tachtigste verjaardag in het BIMHUIS met een ode aan zijn geboortestad Amsterdam. Met zijn Waterland Sextet vulde hij de avond met muziek uit het rijke oeuvre dat hij opbouwde in de afgelopen 65 jaar.
